Newcastle Private Hospital Hybrid Operating Theatre – This project displays the high level of detailed specialist fitout work that RTC have become renowned for. The works had to be completed in a compressed timeframe while the surrounding five operating theatres remained in use. Specific procedures had to be introduced to ensure that the high level infection control measures required in this environment were not compromised. Other challenges unique to this project included; maintaining radiation shielding through use of specialised wall linings and penetration sealing as well as the coordination of and pre works for specialist medical equipment suppliers.
